Glucose Test

With 15 weeks left til Lexie's due date I get to do the glucose test today. Yuck. The "orange soda" they make you drink tastes likes an over-sugared cactus cooler and kinda makes you a little queasy. Hopefully I pass and I don't have to drink this stuff again.

Alright, I'm going in. Time to get poked.

Week 24!

The last few weeks have been very busy and very fun.  Miss Alexis Valentina Trostle is now kicking like she's a member of FIFA!  It's pretty amazing. Every day the kicks get harder and more frequent and yesterday we actually saw the kicks. Daddy reads her stories and when he puts his face to my belly she'll give him a good punch here and there.  We're so in love with this kid and we haven't even met her yet!!!  This is way better than kittens, puppies, pony's, you name it.

Here is the latest belly shot of Lexie popping out a little more. Before we know it my in-y might turn into an out-y.  Does that mean she's fully cooked?

Meet Alexis Valentina Trostle!

That's right! We're having a girl!!!  Her name is Alexis Valentina Trostle and we've already started calling her Lexie!  We had an ultrasound on June 18th and after some minor coercion she stopped sitting like a lady and showed us she was a girl! We're super excited and we can't wait to bring this tough little cookie into this world to meet all of you.

Week 16 - Time to shop for new clothes

Time to say goodbye to skinny jeans and pencil skirts and say hello to spandex, jump suits and flowing frocks, haha!  Okay, maybe not the jump suits but I can definitely go for the flowing frocks.

I'm also happy to announce that my nausea has finally gone away with the exception of my daily A.M. teeth brushing and I have found an energy reserve that I've been tapping into this week and making yummy breakfast sandwiches before work.  I'm sure Brandon appreciates my renewed joy in cooking since he gets to have hot breakfast too every morning.

Waiting for that energy boost...

The books and websites and apps all say that come the start of the 2nd trimester the morning sickness (nausea) should fade away, the food aversions should dissipate and the normal energy level should return. Why must they tease me???  The nausea has definitely gotten better I'll give them that but the energy is still nowhere to be found and my food aversions have not gone away. In fact, the latest aversion is to poultry. Just the thought of eating chicken or turkey right now is enough to bring back that 1st trimester nausea. Red meat has been my saving grace the last week and a half...I wonder how long this will last?

Could it be?

This morning as I was driving to work along the 91 Eastbound I felt a peculiar sensation in my lower abdomen.  It was as if someone was blowing bubbles against the inside of my tummy. I wonder...we had an ultrasound this past Tuesday and baby Dubstep was super active.  Refused to sit still for pictures and measurements after all.  Could it be that these bubbles were baby Dubstep?

Week 14 Ultrasound

Yesterday was the 2nd time we got to see Baby Dubstep in action.  Only this time Dubstep wasn't the size of a lima bean!  Dubstep was bobbing his/her head to a steady rhythm, waving arms all over the place and refused to sit still for a photo op from the ultrasound technician.  Even though the picture below does not do baby's beauty justice, Dubstep has Brandon's nose & chin and my mouth.  Dubstep probably also has my chubby cheeks but we'll have to wait a little longer to find that out!

Baby Dubstep is growing nice and healthy and even though my belly hasn't grown yet, Dubstep is right on track and due date is still December 5th!  Stay tuned!

Lady Bump - Week 13

Here I am at week 13. Just finishing up my first trimester and so far everything is as normal as can be expected.  Didn't do a whole lot of running or jogging due to nausea but mountain biking didn't seem to bother Baby Dubstep too much. Now that I'm getting into my 2nd trimester though maybe I'll be able to start jogging again. Lets cross our fingers!

Lady Bump - Back in Time

A touch of photojournalism? Nah, just some simple documenting of the changes endured up to now for baby "Dubstep". Goodbye abs, hello ice cream! Here is a picture of week 6, just before Ragnar Relay where we ran in a 12 person team (But'R Pace) 200 miles from Huntington Beach to Coronado Island. Good times!
